Election Day Swarm - GRRRL POWER

Hey my bitches,

One of my fave peeps in this town, Todd Montesi, is doing an election day/night coverage. He asked me to bring my "hot friends" and I agreed. And he agreed to be berated for being a man/sexist pig/whatever you want to call him.

And what I want is a howling SWARM of females. I say Howl, b/c humans can more easily howl like a wolf than bark like a dog.

Election night 2004, my girl crew were the only female performers at The Bowery Poetry Club and that was only because Ms. Galore was mixing it up for free. Huh. And we wonder why our country is so effed up!

So, I am asking my "hot friends" to come out on election night and swarm my Todd's live broadcast. (He promises to act surprised!)

I am asking you to bring your voices and bring your "hot friends", your bitches and/or your lovely gal-pals.

I mean, I want to hear your voice. Maybe you don't like to be called a bitch. Maybe you'd rather be a pig with lipstick. Maybe you are voting for McCain. We are not a "special interest group."

I believe in the idea of change and the change must start with us.

And then (maybe, I would rather not get in trouble with the folks there:):), we swarm the Bowery Poetry Club.... team spirit-wise.... girl power, feminine-love and all that jazz-hands.

WE DEMAND OUR VOICES BE HEARD.

We will are not a piece of ass. We are voters who will swing this election and the hipsters downtown obscenely reflects the sexist culture we live in.

We are not hockey moms or soccer moms or a strategy. We are WOMEN. It's time to make the change we want to see.

Please invite your girls. I want us to SWARM!

I hope I can get my womyns to collaborate on this.

Dress as Sara Pali or Tina Fey.
Dress as Michele Obama.
Wear a pig's nose and wear an absurd amount of lipstick.
Dress as yourself (You've got nothing to hide).
Maybe you're not performer and have a haiku to share.
Maybe you're not a performer and just want to support.
Maybe you want to do the Yoko thing and rail against those guys who said you broke up the Beatles.
Maybe you love men and all feminists should be shot with Sarah Palin's rifle.

This is not the most important "show" of your life, but this may be the most important election in decades, so let's have some fun. Let's bring grrl power to the table.

WHEN (FOR US):
Todd said we should show up at 7:30 and go on between 8:00 - 8: 15, but it's all seat of the pants. The show is over at 9PM. Then maybe we swarm swarm the BPC!

I'm thinking of being an anti-feminist.
